Get started with NoThanks
Give cookie consent one less place on your to-do list. Set up NoThanks in Safari, then get back to browsing.
Enable NoThanks on iPhone
Open the NoThanks app and follow Safari setup, or use these steps:
- Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions.
- Select NoThanks Web Extension and turn on Allow Extension. This handles cookie consent on supported websites.
- Return to Extensions and enable the NoThanks entry under Content Blockers. Look for NoThanks Early Hiding, which Safari may show as NoThanks. This helps hide known banners as pages load.
- In NoThanks Web Extension, select Other Websites → Allow to use it across websites. You can also choose access for individual sites.
- Return to NoThanks to review your setup, then open or reload a webpage in Safari.
Frequently asked questions
What does NoThanks do for me?
NoThanks handles cookie consent in Safari on supported websites. It chooses the minimum available permissions, including "Reject all" or "Necessary only", and closes the banner so you can keep browsing. When a supported consent menu has optional permissions, NoThanks turns those off for you.
Why do I enable two extensions?
They work together. NoThanks Web Extension handles the consent choice, while Early Hiding helps keep known banners out of the way as pages load.
Can I choose where NoThanks works?
Yes. Safari's website permissions let you choose which sites NoThanks can access. For a quick pause, open NoThanks from Safari's page menu and choose Pause this site. Use the same menu to resume it whenever you're ready.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed. Cookie consent is handled on your device, and your banner totals and daily activity stay there too.
How do I keep my rules up to date?
In the NoThanks app, open Settings → Rules & updates. Choose Stable for everyday browsing and turn on Automatic sync to check for updates when you open the app. You can also choose Sync now to check whenever you like.
Where can I see my activity?
Open NoThanks to see your banner totals and daily activity. It's a simple way to see what the app has handled as you browse.
